CAL(vin) is a 27 year old animator, writer, cartoonist and illustrator. He is known for his distinct, expressive drawing style and cynical yet silly humour, consistently displayed across a variety of forms and mediums, often within large scale projects. Hailing from South East London, he has worked on a variety of creative projects for clients such as the BBC, Blink Ink and THESOUL Company on long form commissions, short films and events.

CAL(vin) has also ventured into the arena of teaching, caricature art and most exciting of all, independent work. In 2019 CAL(vin) reached out to university students around the country to invite them to showcase their work alongside a display of his sketchbooks and various collaborations. At the centre of this showcase was a screening of STOP, his first official animated short.

While CAL(vin) had been playing with animated skits for most of his youth, STOP marks a clear milestone in his work as the first complete piece to showcase the style and humour he is known for.

In 2023 he would premiere an independently created pilot at Matchstick PieHouse for a series concept titled: The Parade of Screw Ups. Within months of the premiere he would go on to write, animate and release three shorts featuring the series protagonists: Doofus, Moron & Nitwit. That year he would also release an episode of a second series: Mars the Squirrel, which he would later re-release alongside a second episode. An additional Screw Ups short would be released in 2024, when he would also begin building connections in the underground alternative comedy scene by caricaturing comedians live on stage.

2025 would mark another pivotal moment in the artist's career with the release of two of his most ambitious projects to date, months apart from each other. His self-published graphic novel: Tuft Luck the Unlucky Black Cat and his award winning mixed-media film project:The Barmy Horde.

A 60 minute animation showcase, The Barmy Horde featured 3 full length episodes of The Parade of Screw Ups, brought together using various skits. The showcase would premiere as a part of Edinburgh Fringe 2025; afterwards showing at the Comedy FEEDBACK Festival, where it would win Best Feature.
